Because of the political transformation processes taking place in Mexico and several other Latin American countries, there is a growing demand for highly skilled public officials with a profound sense of ethics, in order to exercise public management in an efficient manner. This master program will offer the necessary leading edge contents and competences required by the public service environment.

In order to guarantee the efficacy and legitimacy of public management, public servants will be strengthened through the proper use of methodologies and instruments that will endow them with the tools and advanced knowledge needed to ensure better governability.

Thus, through a curriculum comprised of up to date courses and concentrations, a consolidated online educational model, and the knowledge of its faculty, the Master in Applied Public Management (MGP) will become the most prestigious online master program in public management in Mexico.

Comply with the comprehensive evaluation required in the admission process, through an interview conducted by the admissions committee of the graduate program. In addition, the following is necessary:

  1. Simple copy of the Bachelor´s degree Certificate where the following information is indicated:
    1. The overall GPA.
    2. Completion date of all the subjects of the study plan.
  2. Simple copy of the Bachelor´s degree.
  3. Motivation letter or essay in which the candidate explains the reasons for his or her interest in the program, his or her potential contribution to it and the area in which he or she wishes to develop professionally.
  4. Curriculum vitae.
  5. When applicable, submit two letters of recommendation in the institutional format, from employers or professors.
  6. When applicable, take the Postgraduate Studies Admission Test (PAEP), and obtain at least 500 points in the adaptive version or its equivalent in other exams authorized by the Institution.
  7. When applicable, obtain at least 550 points in the TOEFL exam or its equivalent in the other exams authorized by the Institution as an instrument to assess the sufficiency of English language proficiency.

GRADUATE PROFILE

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  • Understand quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, management models, and legal responsibilities in the different branches of government, as well as the fundaments for the design, management and evaluation of public policy, to face the most relevant public challenges. This will endow the graduate with a solid conceptual and practical framework for public management, achieved through the contents of the program’s curriculum.
  • Generate, design and implement reforms to steer institutional change processes at the state and municipal levels, as well as positively influence the decision-making process in government; conduct financial, material and human resource management in and efficient manner; and utilize analytical frameworks and empirical methods to formulate and evaluate efficient public management.
  • Have the critical mindset necessary to reflect and analyze ethical dilemmas in public service, and be sensitive to the social, economic, politic and ecologic reality, in order to act with social responsibility and solidarity. Have a service attitude in order to foster the creation of public value.
