The Master in Humanistic Studies (MEH) is a research-oriented program that provides its students with a broad, solid and up-to-date training in the interdisciplinary field of the humanities, through different learning environments, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 2015-2030) defined by the UN, which promote the analysis and critical reflection on contemporary cultural phenomena and the challenges that human societies deal in a hyperconnected, ideologically polarized and culturally fragmented world.


The Master in Humanistic Studies (MEH) is a research-oriented program that provides its students with a wide, solid, and updated training in the inter-disciplinary field of humanities, through different learning environments, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS 2015-2030) as defined by the UN, which promote the analysis and critical reflection about contemporary cultural phenomena and the challenges faced by human societies in a hyperconnected, ideologically polarized and culturally fragmented world.

We have professors with doctoral degrees and professional experience from Tecnológico de Monterrey’s School of Humanities and Education. More than 90% of the basic academic core belongs to Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNI, Spanish). 

Tecnológico de Monterrey holds accreditations such as: SACS*, CIEES, SEP, and CONACYT**.

People seeking to begin their training as researchers in the interdisciplinary field of humanities.

Graduates and professionals from different disciplines who wish to complement their academic and professional training with a broad, solid, and updated perspective that adds value to their professional profiles.

Comply with the comprehensive evaluation required in the admission process, through an interview conducted by the admissions committee of the graduate program. In addition, the following is necessary:

  • Simple copy of the Bachelor´s degree and/or Master's degree Certificate, where the following information is indicated:
          a. The overall GPA.
          b. Completion date of all the subjects of the study plan.
  •  Simple copy of the Bachelor´s degree and/or Master's degree.
  • Motivation letter or essay in which the candidate explains the reasons for his or her interest in the program, his or her potential contribution to it and the area in which he or she wishes to develop professionally with a research project.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Two letters of recommendation in the institutional format, from employers or professors.
  • Obtain at least 585 points in the adaptive version of the Postgraduate Studies Admission Test (PAEP) or its equivalent in other exams authorized by the Institution.
  • Obtain at least 550 points in the TOEFL exam or its equivalent in the other exams authorized by the Institution as an instrument for assessing the sufficiency of English language proficiency.

GRADUATE PROFILE

At the end of the program, the student will be able to: 

  • Develop high-quality research, which proposes new approaches to the study of the interdisciplinary field of humanities, from perspectives aligned with the Objectives of Sustainable Development (ODS 2015-2030) as defined by the UN, which demonstrates his/her ability to continue his/her studies at a PhD level.
  • Design and develop analytical strategies for contemporary social and cultural phenomena, from a critical humanistic standpoint, with knowledge of the environment and a proactive attitude to identify relevant problems in their field of research.
  • Manage and evaluate projects of a social and cultural nature, at public and private institutions, as well as in the academic field, that allow him/her to contribute to the solution of the main challenges that contemporary societies face.
